Muritai School - Lower Hutt - 2 kW

Muritai is a school of 400 students located in the beautiful suburb of Eastbourne in Wellington. We are lucky to have the bush directly behind us and the beach only minutes away. We value and utilise our local environment whenever possible and continue to place a strong emphasis on environmental education and exploration of sustainable initiatives. A big part of our success in attaining the Green-Gold Enviroschool award has been through our student leadership programme. At Muritai environmental education is an on going process. A strong focus on STEM education also underpins learning at Muritai School. With sustainability in mind we aim to develop learners that are well-equipped to meet the challenges in the world around them.

Schoolgen has helped support our environmental and STEM education goals through providing us with solar panels which have allowed students the opportunity to experience first hand sustainable and renewable energy technologies in action. The panels monitor energy savings and using the Schoolgen website supports a variety of learning opportunities.
