Te Kura O Waikaremoana School (Tuai) - 2 kW

Te Kura O Waikaremoana strives to create a flourishing school with sound educational programmes and exciting learning experiences for our children. Out in the field there is hands on learning on the marae which combines with learning about Tawhaki and Te Manuoha. This traverses the different realms to acquire ‘The 3 Baskets of Knowledge’ - travelling past Tama Nui Te Ra -The Sun God who Maori have strong connections with as it is handed down by our tipuna, kaumatua.

The children of Te Kura O Waikaremoana are beginning the Schoolgen programme created by Genesis Energy where the children learn about solar energy and energy efficiency.

Te Kura O Waikaremoana have adopted the energy efficient Schoolgen programme with solar panels being installed on our kura at no cost to the school, sponsored by Genesis Energy and led by the Schoolgen Team.  The children also participated in a mini school production about Solar Power as the programme came into our school.

Our school is the 52nd school in the country to receive this great opportunity. It also reaffirms our relationship and connection to Tama Nui Te Ra the Sun God.

Schoolgen is connecting the children to the past and teaching for the future.

Thank You Genesis Energy for the special learning experience and  for teaching us how to be more energy conscious and efficient.
