Schoolgen Energy Cluster Days
The Schoolgen Energy Cluster Day's are run several times a year and represent a special day of intensive hands-on learning for Primary School students about energy .
The host school, generally a Schoolgen Lead School, is the nucleus for the Cluster. A small group of students are selected by each school within the cluster to attend with one of their teachers. They are treated to fun, interesting and challenging activities to do with solar energy and renewable energy generation. The activities are interspersed with presentations from guest speakers with experience in the electrical power industry.
A Cluster Day provides a Science extension programme for a lead group of gifted and talented students. The Cluster Day is also professional development for the teachers who accompany the students; exposing them to new concepts about solar energy and the Schoolgen website and resources.
